# Contacts Tab Overview

Learn to navigate your Contacts tab to view and manage your contacts.

#### What is the Contacts tab? <a href="#h_01edyx4p0d4hd17emh2gty1pm1" id="h_01edyx4p0d4hd17emh2gty1pm1"></a>

**The Contacts tab** is your central place for organizing and managing contact information.

In simple terms, the Contacts tab functions as Hifunnel's built-in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

With Hifunnel, all contacts are stored in a single list, making it easy to view, access, and manage customer accounts in one place.

From the Contacts tab, you can manage existing contacts using **Segments** and **Filters**, as well as manually add new contacts to your site.

### Managing your contacts <a href="#h_01edyx4rj5jj4ty9gtd0bdnn3x" id="h_01edyx4rj5jj4ty9gtd0bdnn3x"></a>

Before managing your Contacts using the actions available in the Contacts tab, it’s important to understand the different types of people that make up your contact list.

#### Contacts, Customers, and Subscribers

#### **Contacts**

A **Contact** is any person listed in your Contacts tab. This includes people who have subscribed, unsubscribed, purchased an Offer, or been granted access to an Offer.

For each contact, you can view detailed information by clicking into their <mark style="color:red;">**Contact Profile**</mark><mark style="color:red;">.</mark>

#### **Customers**

A **Customer** is a contact who has completed a purchase or has been granted access to an Offer on your site.

Customers are identified in the Contacts tab by a checkmark next to their name.

#### **Subscribers**

A **Subscriber** is a contact who has given consent to receive your <mark style="color:red;">marketing emails</mark>. Subscribers can be added through <mark style="color:red;">form submissions</mark> or <mark style="color:red;">imported onto your site</mark>.

Contacts can overlap between these categories. For example, a Customer may also be a Subscriber if they are subscribed to your marketing emails. Likewise, a Subscriber may also be a Customer if they have access to one or more Offers.

However, a Subscriber does not need to be a Customer to receive marketing emails. As long as the contact has provided proper consent, they are considered a Subscriber.

#### Segments

**Segments** allow you to personalize your marketing and efficiently manage your contact list.

You can customize Segments using Filters, combining multiple conditions to match your business needs.

#### Filters

**Filters** help you narrow down your contact list and build precise Segments.

Hifunnel provides a wide range of filters that let you organize contacts based on their information or activity on your site.

#### Filter Categories include:

* Default Field Filters
* Marketing Status Filters
* Offer Filters
* Product Filters
* Tag Filters

Within each category, you can select specific filters to apply to your list.

Open the Contacts tab, click **Filters**, and start refining your contact list.

#### Bulk actions

**Bulk actions** allow you to perform actions on multiple contacts at once, helping you save time and streamline your workflow.

Bulk actions include tasks such as applying tags or subscribing contacts to an email sequence.

### Manage Tags

Lastly, the **Contacts** tab stores all tags created on your Hifunnel site and allows you to create new tags.

Similar to filters and segments, **Tags** are a powerful tool for organizing and managing your contacts efficiently. They help you label contacts based on behavior, status, or any custom criteria, making it easier to manage and act on your contact list.
