# Defining Contacts Tab Filters

Learn about each Filter available in your Contacts tab to help you create segments and narrow your results in your list.

### What are Contacts tab filters? <a href="#h_01fyvsefqxhb1y6phz533vv4xz" id="h_01fyvsefqxhb1y6phz533vv4xz"></a>

First, let’s review what the **Contacts** tab is.

The **Contacts** tab is a powerful organizational tool that helps you manage all contact information on your Hifunnel site.

In other words, the Contacts tab functions as Hifunnel’s built-in **Customer Relationship Management (CRM)** system.

With Hifunnel, all of your contacts are stored in a **single list**, making it easy to view, access, and manage their accounts in one place.

Using the Contacts tab, you can:

* Manage existing contacts
* Add new contacts to your site
* Organize contacts using **Filters** and **Segments**

#### Filters and Segments

Filters help you narrow down and manage your contact list based on specific criteria. This makes it easier to organize contacts and create meaningful Segments.

Segments allow you to group contacts dynamically based on the filters you apply.

#### Filter structure

When creating filters, you will define:

* **Category**: The type of data you want to filter by (for example, Email Activity)
* **Condition**: The rule or logic applied to the selected category
* **Value**: The specific parameter used for the condition

#### Filter your contact list

* Open the **Contacts** tab from your Dashboard.
* Click **Filters**.
* Select a **Category**, **Condition**, and **Value** to apply your filter.
