# Revoke Product Access from a Customer

Learn how to revoke course and product access from a customer after course completion, payment failure, or subscription cancellation in Hifunnel.

Revoking Product access removes a specific course or digital product from your customer's member portal/library.

You may need to revoke product access when a student completes a temporary course cohort, fails to complete recurring subscription payments, requests a refund, or violates terms of service.

**What Happens When Access is Revoked?**

* The revoked Product is immediately removed from the customer's member portal/library.
* The customer's historical records (such as quiz scores, progress tracking, and comments) are safely preserved in your admin database.
* The customer **does not** receive an automatic email notification when access is revoked.
  {% endhint %}

## Important Distinction: Revoking Access vs. Canceling Subscriptions

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Critical Note for Subscription Offers:** Revoking product access manually **does not** cancel future recurring credit card or bank transfer subscription charges. If the customer purchased via a recurring Offer, be sure to cancel their active subscription under their Purchase details to deactivate future billing!

## Access Status Indicators

In the customer's **Purchases** tab, the access status will display indicators showing how access was terminated:

* **Revoked by Automation**: Access was automatically revoked via a custom automation rule (e.g., after 30 days of inactivity or failed payment).
* **Revoked by \[Admin Email]**: Access was manually revoked by an admin team member.
* **Revoked**: The Offer's predefined access expiration period has passed.
