# Video Formats Supported by Hifunnel

Hifunnel can encode and display many common file formats (see the list below), but for the most consistent performance, we recommend uploading files in the MP4 format.

The maximum file size for video uploads is 5GB. If your video file size is larger than 5GB use a video file compression tool such as [Handbrake](/hifunnel-help-center/documentation/resources/resources/compress-a-video-file-using-handbrake.md) or FFmpeg.

For best performance, we recommend you aim to have your videos fall within these guidelines:

* Resolution: between 720px and 1080px ( full HD)
* Bitrate: 2,500 - 8,000 kbps (recommended 720p: 2.5Mbps, 1080p: 4-5Mbps).
* Aspect ratio: 16:9 (e.g., 1920px x 1080px)

We recommend adhering to 1080p and 4,000 - 5,000 kbps as the max settings for upload, as it will reduce the likeliness of upload errors.

Hifunnel supports many commonly used media container formats:

* ISOBMFF-based formats (.mp4, .m4v, .m4a, ...)
* QuickTime File Format (.mov)
* Matroska (.mkv)
* WebM (.webm)
* Ogg (.ogg)
* MP3 (.mp3)
* WAVE (.wav)
* ADTS (.aac)
* FLAC (.flac)
* MPEG Transport Stream (.ts)
