# Website Builder FAQs

#### What is the Website Builder?

The **Website Builder** helps you build and design your Hifunnel website faster and more easily.

You can create and customize your website pages with the same flexibility and precision available in Hifunnel’s page editor, using modular Sections and Element.

The Website Builder gives you access to:

* Flexible layout controls with Drag\&drop
* Reusable design components ( Saved Section, Element)
* A growing library of website templates

All designed to help you build a professional website that matches your brand.

Learn more about customizing your website with the Website Builder.

***

#### Does the Website Builder affect my landing pages?

No.\
The Website Builder is designed specifically for **standard website pages** (such as Home, Login, Blog, About, and Contact).

**Landing Pages** are standalone pages and are managed separately.

You can continue building landing pages using the page editor and link them to your website using buttons or navigation menus.

This allows you to maintain a consistent look and feel across your website and marketing pages.

{% hint style="info" %}
Because standard website pages are structurally different from standalone landing pages, the Website Builder includes additional features (such as global style settings) that are not available on landing pages.

Learn the difference between website pages and landing pages.
{% endhint %}

***

#### Does the Website Builder apply to all website pages?

Yes.

The Website Builder allows you to design **all standard website pages**, including:

* Home
* About
* Contact
* Blog
* Member-related pages

Every standard website page can be styled and customized using the Website Builder.

***

#### I edited my website but my homepage changes didn’t appear. What happened?

This usually occurs when your homepage is set to a **Landing Page** instead of a **Website Page**.

This setup allows you to redesign your website behind the scenes while still directing visitors to your existing homepage.

As long as you clicked **Save** after making changes, your work is not lost.

When you’re ready to display your redesigned website:

* Activate your customized template
* Set your homepage back to your Website Template Home

***

#### Why don’t I see certain pages listed as standard website pages?

Some pages may be available only when using the Website Builder.

If a page type is not listed, it may need to be created as a standalone landing page instead.

This approach provides greater flexibility for sales and marketing use cases.

### What is the difference between a Landing Page and a Website?

A Website is made up of a homepage plus additional pages that are connected together through a navigation menu.

With Hifunnel’s latest updates to the website builder, you can create new custom website pages and build out your standard website pages. **Learn more**.

Landing Pages, on the other hand, are standalone pages (single, one-off pages) you can use for a wide range of goals: opt-ins, sales pages, thank you pages, and more.

A simple way to think about landing pages is: they’re separate pages on your site that visitors can land on.

### How do I unpublish and publish my site?

When you first get started with Hifunnel, you’re given a default Hifunnel subdomain with the standard website pages already created and connected.

That means your default Hifunnel subdomain is immediately accessible, and those standard pages can be viewed.

**In other words, your site is already “published.”**

That said, “publishing” your site doesn’t automatically launch it to your audience. To actually go live, you still need to share your site domain with your contacts and audience via email, social media, and anywhere else you promote.

If you never share the domain, most people simply won’t know where to find your new site.

Even so, it’s normal to want to hide your site while you’re still building, just in case someone stumbles onto your Hifunnel subdomain (or your connected custom domain). If that’s what you’re trying to do, you can “unpublish” your site by changing what your domain points to.

“Unpublish,” draft, or hide your site by creating a “Coming Soon” landing page to replace the homepage connected to your domain:

This hides your full site experience if someone lands on your Hifunnel subdomain or custom domain while you’re still preparing.

After your “Coming Soon” landing page is in place, you can continue building and customizing your site behind the scenes.
